"3 Tips to Considering a Wholesale Product or Surplus Market!" |
Any typical average American with an entrepreneurial mind and who has heard of eBay, has probably at one point of time or another thought of starting an eBay business. You may have the perfect idea but you’re not sure how or where to begin to start searching for the products you’re looking for.
Long gone are the days of entering the online auction marketplace as a free for all where you could literally sell anything and make a lot of money. Now don’t get me wrong, you can still do extremely well but it requires more planning.
I remember back when PC’s were just becoming popular and the internet was just starting out. I remember when eBay first came into being where it was literally an online nationwide garage sale. However, it didn’t take long before it became more "commercialized" and businesses found it as a way to get their products and or services to the market.
It became an easy way for the average Joe to make quick cash selling whatever they could imagine with very little to no planning. For the entrepreneur at heart, it was a way to start an online business overnight.
Fast forward to 2008… eBay has now become extremely large and the whole environment has changed. Even on eBay, the things that worked then, no longer work today. It requires actual business planning and business building.
Long gone are the days where you could just throw up any widget and make a lot of money. Today it is very likely it will go unsold or sell for very little if there is a lot of competition in the market.
What this means is you need to plan your product sourcing correctly.
How do you know which product to sell?
How and where do you find it?
Where is the best place to look?
Let me share with you 3 keys to finding a product.
1. Determine which type of product you’re looking for and know your business model? Are you looking to sell refurbished electronics? Name brand electronics? Is this product being sold to retailers or the end user?
2. Determine what you’re interests are. What is the capital you are planning to invest? What is your time constraints to get started? What are your talents and how do you plan to sell or market the products? Almost every product in existence has a wholesale beginning.
3. Determine the competition in the market. Can you get the products cheaper for what you can sell them for?
Is there enough profit in them to make it worth your time?
Is the market saturated?
Remember competition is not a bad thing, it tells you that it is a viable market that has demand for the product. You’ll need to figure out how to come to the table with a better product or service etc. How can you beat the competition? However, to much competition can be a bad thing because it can mean that the market is saturated and there is not enough demand to meet the supply. You’ll need to make sure to do your market research before making a final decision.
Are the products you are considering selling consumable products such as health or beauty products? Can you build a repeat customer base? Are they high demand? Easily transportable?
Are they small enough to stock or do you need to get a warehouse?
There are many areas to go into. The best advice I can give is "follow your passion". Do your research and once you decide to enter a market, just make sure you do it better than everyone else and make it happen.

"Using YouTube to Source Liquidation Products!" |
Most people use Youtube.com as a source of entertainment for those who watch it while many use it to promote their business or other interests for those who post videos.
Did you know that Youtube is a great source for finding new product sources? There are many companies who are liquidating their products because they are going out of business or for some other reason and post a video on Youtube in hopes of driving traffic to sell their liquidated merchandise.
