"MUST READ!
HOT Training from an Email Testimonial!" |
I often receive questions from people asking me advice and information on how to find product to start an eBay business, questions pertaining to an online auction business or even questions on the surplus and liquidation industry. In fact, I have done several interviews to discuss the surplus and liquidation industry!
Below is a radio interview I did with Worldwide Brands regarding sourcing surplus and liquidation products. If you’re an online seller looking to see some serious profit margins, this interview will help you to understand what you’re doing, or you may get burned! Learn what to do – and what NOT to do – when buying surplus goods.
(A new window will open when clicking play.)

Those who do not have an opportunity to ask me questions personally, usually will send me emails with their questions asking for my advice. These are usually emails from my www.surplus2profits.com customers and my newsletter readers.
(By the way, as I always love to express, thank you for your feedback! I love to hear from people and if you have yet to send me your thoughts, please feel free to let me know what you think!)
However, a lot of these questions are the same questions. That’s why I wrote my book:
"THE "ULTIMATE" INSIDERS SURPLUS, LIQUIDATION & WHOLESALE BUYING TO RESELL FOR MEGA PROFITS GUIDE"
(I really need to shorten that ; )
to answer the questions in detail of WHERE and HOW to buy surplus and liquidated products at pennies on the dollar to resell for profit on eBay, at flea markets, your brick and mortar store, or any other outlet you may have. They key is to learn how and where to buy to resell. Unfortunately, most people do not know how to do that and end up getting burnt and losing a lot of money.
In other words, most people do NOT ask the right questions BEFORE they buy products to resell! Do NOT make that mistake.
I want to share an email I recently received. First, I want to personally offer my appreciation and thanks to Sean, who sent me the below email and giving me permission to share his testimonial.
Please read carefully as I also share his email as a learning tool:
"My name is Sean. I have purchased and read your book:
"The ultimate insiders surplus, liquidation & wholesale buying to resale for mega profits guide. As opposed to many information books that are on the market, this one was very informative and useful. I loved it! In a matter of fact, I have used your principles to purchase a few pallets from (name withheld) and have been pretty profitable doing so.
I love buying and selling surplus material for profit. In a matter of fact, I love it so much that I am in the process of making a business plan so I can quit my job do this full time and live the American dream. I have a lot of questions to ask with not very many people to answer them because there are not very many people that do this kind of thing.
Sean then proceeds with some questions.
Now, first off, I want to congratulate Sean. First, he read my book www.surplus2profits.com and gleaned all the information he could. He has already profited from one of the sources in there using the principles taught.
Second, despite his initial success, he is STILL asking questions, and the right questions! He says "I want to be informed as much as I can before making such a large move."
He is putting together a plan because he has a vision of what he wants to accomplish. Most people fail at this stage because they fail to plan. I would suggest that most people take the same approach. I will say there is a balance from trying to learn everything before you get started and not knowing anything. You don’t need to know everything, but you also don’t want to jump in blindly especially when you have a monetary investment on the line.
Now, most people don’t know where to go to get this kind of advice or insight to gain this kind of knowledge, again, my Surplus and Wholesale buying guide will give you a wonderful insight to how and where and will give you valuable knowledge to get you started buying surplus and liquidation to resell for profits!
However, many people face the same issues as Sean has, in not being able to find someone to help guide them through the steps of making such a large move.
I have had several people ask me questions regarding SEO, (website optimization) and search engine marketing (SEM). (For those who do not know, I do that as well). (We have a professional team of people who build and design websites, do software programming along with SEO services and Search engine marketing.) Drop me an email if you ever need these services. "DEADLY TRUTH:
Turn Surplus Inventory Quickly OR DIE! Ten Tips to Move your Surplus Products Quickly!" |
Turning inventory over quickly is the key to successfully sourcing secondary products.
Although it’s true that you make your money by buying low when you purchase products to resell, what many people who purchase products to resell for profit do not understand that although they may find a great deal on the merchandise they purchased, you have to make your money back and then more by actually selling it! Unless it’s something you purchased such as a printing machine that will allow you to do a service for someone but what I’m speaking of here is buying and selling goods, not services.
I know that seems elementary or training 101 but I am always amazed with those people who try to start up a business buying to resell, and they run out and buy pallets of products but they have no clue who they are going to sell those products to!
I have personally known several people, or "hustlers" more appropriately called, who make a lot of extra money on the side by wheeling and dealing with people on different things they come across, and they are happy in doing so. That is fine if that’s what you want to do, however, my point here is regarding people who want to actually start a legitimate, full time business.
These are people who want to start a business, who go out and purchase several pallets but have no idea who they are going to sell them to. Even though they may have gotten a great deal on the products or pallets, if they don’t sell them, they obviously can’t make their money back. This is where most people turn to eBay to sell their goods through.
However, the problem with this lies in the fact that when you have several types of products, and you have to list them all separately, you simply don’t have enough time to run 300-500 listings at the same time per week and then ship them all, just to do it all over again.
Here’s why this is a problem. Depending on the merchandise you are selling, unless you are making a lot of money with about 70 auctions or less per week as a rough estimate, (if you are flying solo) listing different auctions, then you may be disappointed to find although you may be able to pay your bills, you may find it difficult to pay for your next pallet load with the profits from the last pallet load. You certainly don’t want to keep doing that. If you have to finance your pallet loads, for month after month, you will find that you may eventually be struggling to survive.
The key to making money when you purchase bulk products is to resell them as quickly as possible. If you’re like most people, your bills will come due about every 30 days. If you spend money on several pallets and it takes you 60 days to make your money back, that means you have 30 days that you will need to sustain yourself before you can make your money back plus some. Then you will need to use those profits to pay your bills and how else will you be able to grow your surplus business if you can’t move products fast enough?
Ten Tips to Move your Surplus Products Quickly:
1. Have a plan to sell!
2. Create a streamlined process of selling and shipping!
3. Increase your profits with a backend process!
4. Use upsell strategies to sell more products to the same customer!
5. Sell products in bulk yourself!
6. Bundle or package products that are slow movers and create deals with stores or other sellers so they can sell them for you or buy them at a discounted price!
7. Make sure to salvage what you can and use certain damaged items as parts to repair other products to sell for higher value.
8. Donate items and take a tax write off.
9. Take your items you are not able to sell quickly yourself to an eBay consignment seller or a brick and mortar store so they will sell them for you.
10. Sell your slow moving items, left over items, or damaged or distressed merchandise or other low value items at a garage sale, flea market, estate sale, or have someone auction them off.
As long as you find a way to liquidate your merchandise quickly within 30 days and you can reinvest your profits into another load of product that you can have scheduled to arrive within that 30 days, (ideally within about 3 weeks or less), you will find you’ll more than likely be on your way to making a very good living!
Use these ten tips to help you move your products quickly!
