Tips To Make Money On EBay

You’ve sold a few items on eBay and made a little money. Now you’re ready to start a business. A lot of people have turned their eBay hobbies into home-based businesses, and you can, too. Here are the four most important things to do when opening an eBay business.

1. The first thing you must do is write a strong listing! You must make sure your listing title uses words that are friendly to search engines. Also, if your product has a model number, then you should put that in the title. And you should make sure your description gives lots of details about the item. You want to convince the buyer that he or she is getting a great deal. Also, make sure you don’t have any typos or bad grammar in your description. This will turn buyers off.

2. You should also make sure you spell your item correctly in the listing! Some people lose money on eBay because of a simple typo. When the item is misspelled, potential buyers have a hard time finding the product. This reduces competition from bidders and results in a very low winning bid.

3. You should use a picture! When was the last time you bought something without seeing it first? Exactly! You’ve never done it. People like to see what they are bidding on. Just make sure your photos are good quality. Most importantly, make sure you photograph the item in a well lit area.

4. You should place your item in the proper category! When people search for items, they usually start with the eBay search bar. Then, if they get a large number of results, they click on the category title for the item they are searching for. This filters the search results so that only the desired listings are displayed. If you put your product in the wrong category, then your item will not be displayed.

Once you are comfortable with these four tips, you can begin with some actual business strategies.

Here is an example of a great strategy: Buy from Amazon and sell on eBay! Did you know that used textbooks are often very cheap on Amazon and very expensive on eBay? For some reason, people are willing to pay more for textbooks on eBay. Here is an experiment to try. Cut and paste “0121822028″ into the search box at at Amazon.com. This is the product number for a popular college biology book. You’ll see that the retail price for the book is $150-$200. Next, check out the Amazon Marketplace prices! They’re far lower than the retail price. Next, run an eBay search with the same product number and look at how much profit you can make!
