Indecisiveness |
In battle, soldiers will tell you that you must keep moving. Indecisiveness will kill you. You must make a decision and move. You cannot stay stagnant or waiver back and forth. Once you do, you will get killed. This is a very elementary concept but a very important one. You must keep moving. Even if you make a bad choice, it is better than no choice at all. For making no decision means that you will let the situation dictate your next actions. Do not do this. Make sure that you remain proactive in your actions and not react to situations. Solve the problems BEFORE they arise! This is a must for marketing activities in general as well as online marketing across all online internet businesses.
When it comes time to make a decision, then make it according to your best judgment and then don’t look back. Everyone makes mistakes and mistakes can be overcome, but if you make no decision and it kills you, well, not to many people have come back from the dead!
When it comes to dealing with issues, you need to first, perceive the situation, then access the situation, determine the situation based on sound judgment and then make a decision. After you make a decision, then act on that decision and don’t look back. All too often do I see business leaders not know what to do, not know their direction and they fail to make sound decisions. In the end, that means because they failed to move, they are forced to come back and clean up the mess they should have dealt with from the beginning. Take the solution to the problem with sound decision making and don’t waiver in indecisiveness. This principle holds true for your business online.

Excessive Substance |
This is where there is too much dead weight. In other words, the business is forced to carry the burdens of additional people or additional finances. This is deadly especially for a new business. Now, please don’t get me wrong, I do not believe in being the corporate chop chop, your done mentality. I believe that is terrible, but at the same time don’t put yourself in a position to take an added burdens or expenses you cannot afford.
Wait until you become real wealthy and then you can concentrate on saving the world when you can afford it. Don’t allow yourself to be placed in a position where others will pull you down. Take control and be wise to keep a tight focus and tight strings on being laser targeted. You want to operate as smoothly, efficiently and most effectively as possible. Too many businesses go out of business because they carry to much excess substance. Don’t let this be you.

Micro Managing Yourself or Employees |
I have yet to meet anyone who enjoys being micro-managed. This completely takes away complete creative insight, kills morale and productivity, causes confusion and makes people afraid to act within their sphere. Simply let people do what they do best in the structure provided. Don’t look over everyone’s shoulder and "one-up" everyone and micromanage things. This is a very simple one to understand but this is more for control freaks who think that their ways are best. If you’re being micro-managed in your present position, I’m sure you would be able to expand on this as to the detrimental effects of what being micro-managed does to your morale and psyche.
Needless to say, this is a killer for business because it is not a happy environment to work in. An unhappy workplace means unhappy employees which means lower productivity! This holds true for any online internet business as well as any traditional business. Don’t make this mistake.

Lack of Structure, Organization and Flexibility Within That Structure |
Any good business, entity or organization will incorporate a proper structure and have organization within that structure. That also involves being flexible within that structure to operate. Good discipline is also key in this to make any organization work smoothly.
I have witnessed companies who do not have these essentials completely waiver back and forth in chaos and confusion hindering productivity, stunting company growth. It is important to lay the proper groundwork of these important elements to increase your chances to make money either with a traditional brick and mortar business or through your online business.

Not Consulting On Strategies with the Experts in your own Business or Company |
A company hires people to who perform a specific function within a company. I have seen very talented web designers, programmers, SEO’s who were very good at what they did, get completely ignored and dissed on when their boss (owner of the company) goes and listens to his colleagues, (who had no sense of business and couldn’t even turn on a computer, let alone give good advice about websites or internet business) and completely ignores the expert consult in his own company if he even asked for the consult of the expert people in his company.
This is terrible for employee morale. Don’t make this mistake. It is good to get feedback from people, but you should make your informed decisions based on the experts within your own company. There may be times you need to get the consult of outside sources, that is fine, but the point is do not ignore what you already have for the sake of appeasing others around you for an ego boost and listening to bad counsel from people who do not have a clue.
This is not the same as surveying your market or customers. This has to do with business operations.
