As I’ve previously mentioned I get a lot of questions from my readers. It often seems many of the questions I receive are asked out of doubt or simply not knowing where to begin. I am going to randomly select a few questions and categorize common obstacles and then give you a plan of success for you to overcome them.

1. Over Skepticism and Self Doubt

Many of you are suffering from information overload and what I call "guru syndrome". This is where you read so many sales letters, subscribe to so many newsletters and then get hammered with ad after ad to sell you something. You are bombarded with so much info and you’re not sure which or what to believe if anything. I recently had a reader tell me he knew he was asking questions that he thought I would rather have him purchase but he wanted me to convince him of why he should purchase my product over every other product that promised to make him millions…

My answer is simply this…

If you notice, nowhere on my site, newsletters, nor in my product do I tell people how they are going to get rich or make millions. I intentionally stay away from that verbiage. I’ve been told I almost scare people away because I’m upfront with them. I’ve been accused of being a straight shooter because I call it like it is. Can you make money in this?

YES, absolutely!

But you will make money? – I can tell you how and where – but the end result is up to you. As I’ve said, it depends on your desire, motivation, drive and determination and simply if you follow the instructions

That’s why I wrote the book. If it didn’t work, I wouldn’t have ever written it, nor would I have been doing it myself!

2. Not Having Enough Experience

This categorizes several questions I’ve received. Many people will say they are a newbie and simply lack the confidence to even begin, either because they don’t know where or how to begin so they get stuck in a state of paralysis. They are overwhelmed with the perceived learning curve of operating on the web.

3. Getting Stuck in Stereotypes

Just because there are Powersellers selling hundreds or thousands of items a month doesn’t mean you have to do the same in order to succeed. In other words don’t think you have to sell tons of products to make a lot of money. Being a large volume seller can mean several things. Volume as in amount of product moved or money income? Are you focusing on large product volume or large profits? Example – if you sold a few products at $100.00 – $500.00 profit each per month how many sells would you need? Is that large volume? Or would you prefer to sell 2000 products at $2.00 profit? Who said you need to sell large volume or several products to do well? Don’t get stuck in stereotypes.

4. Not Knowing Where to Start

I get various "how to" questions all the time. How do I find product to sell? Where do I find product to sell? What’s the best way to sell it? How can I make money with dropshipping? What about finding that perfect product or niche? How can I set up a website? and on and on.

These questions are fine as that is how you learn and at least if you are asking these questions, you are going down the right path. Do your due diligence and learn. You don’t get the answers if you don’t ask the questions.

Second, This leads me to the solution to overcoming these obstacles.

You need to have a plan. If you fail to plan you plan to fail. What I mean is this… What is your market? What is your product? What is your plan to tap into that market? Do you have a strategy to capture a customer list? Do you have a plan to utilize a website for backend sales processes from eBay? Do you have a plan to use those tools to further monetize your business?

Third, now learn how to get your own website. Let me share this short story with you…

I recently got a couple of questions from some readers who remarked that they were newbies and didn’t have much web experience. It made me reflect on when I first got started.

You may not know that when I got started, I did not have any type of computer degree. I did not have any online marketing experience and in fact I could barely tell you how to turn one on and I am not exaggerating.

In fact, I started off with an old dinosaur of a computer, it had a 386 processor. (Talk about slow!) The thing crashed every time I tried to save a file it seemed – YIKES ; (

I can remember trying to figure out how to post a picture on a web page not even understanding I needed to upload it to a server! In fact, back then, I couldn’t even tell you what a webhost or server was!

Today, I can develop my own sites, market them and do just about anything that needs to be done.

I devoted hours upon hours of reading every piece of marketing material I could get my hands from well known guru’s to just about anybody. I waded through the fluff and filler, chewed the meat and spit out the bones.

I taught myself how to create webpages from graphic design, copy writing, programming, and everything that needed to be done and I learned how to use programs such as Adobe Photoshop, plus hundreds of other pieces of software. Did not take any college classes to do it, just sat down and learned it all because I had the desire, drive, determination and motivation!

Often people want it done for them. If you’ve got more cash than time, then hire someone to do all this for you. However, I have always been much more happier doing it myself.

What I’m trying to say is this… you create your own reality. Just because you don’t understand something, you can learn. No matter what level of experience you have, no matter the level of education you have, you can do it. You don’t need to have a formal education, or a college degree. You need the desire, drive, motivation and determination and if you do, you will learn.

Here’s the mistake. I tried to cut corners to reduce costs from getting the proper tools I needed. Don’t do this! Invest in your business. It took me a lot longer to learn how to do all of this because I tried to cut corners. There are software, programs and tools available that are very inexpensive and can put you far ahead of the learning curve.
