Business Goals - Write Your Flight Plan

Posted: December 16th, 2008, by admin

Business Goals - Write Your Flight Plan!

"Our goals can only be reached through the vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success." — Stephen A. Brennen

Many people think that simply being positive and optimistic and having a clear goal is all they need to be successful. They start believing that positive thinking and the power to think in the affirmative will make you successful… so they think. However, important as this may be, this is simply a starting point, yet this is where people stop. They fail to establish a proper roadmap and a business plan to achieve financial success.

The fact is that only about 3 percent of people have clear written goals with any plans to accomplish them. Only about 3 percent of adults work on their most important goals each day.Only the top people think about their business goals most of the time.

The problem with most people is they don’t have goals, but instead they have wishes. These are well defined as hopes, dreams, and fantasies. The "shotgun blast and prayer" approach. Just like a dream, these things fade away into the imagination, providing no clarity of focus and direction.

It’s okay to have dreams and aspirations but the point being is that it will always be fantasy land until you put some "meat on the bones". Only when you thoroughly plan and prepare every detail of your journey can you be assured of reaching your destination on schedule.

Your Need A Measure and a Method!

In order to define your business goals, they must be both qualitative and quantitative. A goal defined as qualitative, you will think and feel as the result of having achieved that goal. You imagine the feelings of reward you would have if you achieved the perfect goal for you. You create those feelings within yourself by imagining that you have already achieved your goal.

You define a quantitative goal by attaching specific numbers to it. This gives you a target to aim at and allows you to track your progress. If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

When most people state their business goal as being financially independent, they say "I want to be a millionaire." However, this is to vague. "Financial Independence" means that you have enough money so that you never have to worry about money again. So the question is: What is your number? How much will you actually need?

To get this answer, define these goals and develop your business plan to reach your destination.

Wishing you much success!

Business Strategy

Posted: December 3rd, 2008, by admin

Hope Is Not A Business Strategy!

Many people enter into a business proposition or a business venture lacking a business strategy, a plan, a vision and basically implement what I call a shotgun blast and a prayer approach in their attempt to achieve success.

They proceed to invest their time, money and emotion into a losing proposition without first examining the route to get to their desired location. One of the issues I have talked about is acting with hasty and impulsive business decisions and how it leads to absolute failure and catastrophe. These are the prime candidates who implement the shotgun blast and prayer approach and usually 99.9% of the time.

This strategy offers just as much a chance of success as winning the lottery.

Instead, the proper moves would be to get advice from others who have traveled the same route. Learn from the experts in your field and asked people who have gotten to where you want to be how they did it and what they learned along the way. Ask them what they would do differently if they had to do it all over again.

Always be open to the possibility that you could be completely wrong and be willing to admit it and take a different route if necessary. I have seen people so prideful, egotistical and stuck on themselves that they were not able to admit they were wrong and they failed miserably when in fact if they would have listened to wise counsel, could have achieved great success. It’s just they can’t bring themselves to do it because then they couldn’t take 100% of the credit! Crazy but true!

Your Ability to Think!

This is your most valuable asset. When building a business, invest in your most valuable asset and that is YOURSELF! Your mind is what you possess that allows you to think and empowers you to put forth the effort to reach your goals and destination in life. The value is contained in your ability to think clearly about who you are and what you want. This is 80% of success in your life as will keep you from taking the shotgun blast and prayer approach!

This is the ability to set clear, specific, measurable goals that you desire to achieve and that are in harmony with your best talents and abilities. This is the first step in reaching your destination to lifelong success. It is good to hope for the best but don’t make it your business strategy!

Wishing you much success!

The Foundation of Riches

Posted: November 26th, 2008, by admin

The Foundation of Riches!

If your goal is financial success, the ONLY way to attain your goal is to ADD VALUE!

If you want to be wealthy, it will come by adding value in some way. All long-term, predicatable and long-lasting wealth comes from adding value to people’s lives. It comes from serving people by providing them with the products or services they want and are willing to pay for.

The Law of Sowing and Reaping

There is a Biblical principle that says you reap what you sow. No one can deny this truth. Whatever you sow in your family life, your career, your health, your financial life and every aspect of life is what you will reap. Whatever you reap today is what you sowed yesterday and remember what you do today, you will feel the consequence of it tomorrow.

If you are not happy with your present situation, then begin today to sow something of value for tomorrow. Begin today by adding value to others. The sowing always comes first, then the reaping. Just keep in mind that sowing often goes on for a long time before you reap the rewards.

No matter how long it takes, always remember you will reap what you sow, whether good or bad. It’s up to you to determine if you will sow for a good or for bad harvest.

Acccording to Thomas Stanley and William Danko in their book: "The Millionaire Next Door", the average self made millionair in America has invested 22 years of hard work, sacrifice, reversals, difficulties, and temporary failures to reach that amount of wealth!

Most people are ready to get rich quick overnight and think they will jump to the front of the line of financial reward. These are people who are either unprepared or unwilling to put in the hard work necessary, and as a result they end up at the back of the line and struggle all of their lives. Determine that you will not be afraid of work and start sowing by adding value to peoples lives today so that you may reap the rewards tomorrow!

Make Money Free

Posted: November 3rd, 2008, by admin

I found a very interesting website that is still in Beta but if it seems to offer opportunity for you to earn without any cost upfront, I wanted to pass it along to you.

The excellent part is you don’t even need a website. Just simply post good content on your passions! You don’t even need to be a professional writer. This is an excellent chance to earn passive income by talking about what you love!

The name of the website is Learniacs.

http://www.auctionnichemarkets.com/go/learniacs.html

Here’s how it works:

Learniacs is a network of real people writing about their passions and willing to help other people. The website is specially designed to help experts to easily share their knowledge and earn money from the content they create and promote and, also, from the other people they bring to Learniacs.

Individual pages on a specific topic are referred to as blackboards and their authors are called learniacs.

There are two main ways to profit from Learniacs:
1. By publishing high-quality articles and earn a share from the advertising revenue.

2. By bringing other people to the network and earn a share of all their future income, for 10 generations of referrals. The best part of this is that, once you’ve set up a decent network, your ads will continue to show on the blackboards in your network creating a nice passive income stream.

Of course, you can combine these two main ways and get a lot more value from the Learniacs system.

Here’s how it works:
1. Take a moment to sign up for a free account. All you need to get started is a valid email address.

You can sign up here:
http://www.auctionnichemarkets.com/go/learniacs.html

2. If you want to, you can easily invite your friends to join your network by entering their names and email addresses. They will automatically receive an invitation including your unique referral link. If they choose to sign up, they will automatically be registered as your referrals.

3. You’re now ready to publish your first article. In order to do that, in the "Blackboards" section, click the "Create new blackboard" link and follow the step-by-step instructions.

4. In order to earn money from the articles you and your referrals create, visit the "Account" section and enter your information for the advertising accounts. Click the "learn more" link for help.

5. After publishing your first article, in the "Stats" section you can watch your statistics in real time in order to see how many people are visiting your blackboards and where they come from, how many ad impressions you get from your network and how efficient is your network.

So go check it out and sign up here:

Business Success

Posted: October 29th, 2008, by admin

4 Principles to Business Success!

Here are four principles to incorporate into your mindset to get you started on your path to business success.

1. Always Be In Motion

One of the wisest thinking patterns to achieve maximum potential is to always be in motion. When things stop moving they become stagnant or stale. This is the same with your life and business profession! You must always be moving but moving in a specific and planned direction.

When a plane leaves the runway, it has a final destination in mind and a flight plan and a flight pattern to arrive at the final destination. Although there may be turbulence along the way, the plane is in motion and moving in a specific and planned direction.

2. Be Proactive

This means to maximize your in-motion plan, you MUST always be proactive instead of reactive! This means you must go out and make things happen and YOU dictate the actions to the situations BEFORE they happen rather than waiting for situations to happen and then you reacting to the situations!

For example, if you’re not happy with your current job, you would either go out and create one for yourself doing what you love or you will go out and search for one that you will like. Unless you are a high profile person, you don’t just wait around waiting for someone to come knocking on your door to offer you your dream career. You’ve got to go out and make it happen.

3. Refuse To Settle for Less

Mostly due to fear, insecurity, timidity, or low perception of one’s self-worth, most people settle for far less that what they are truly capable of achieving. They stay in jobs they don’t like. They remain in relationships that make them unhappy. They invest their money in things they don’t understand and then leave the money there long after they realized they’ve made a mistake. They fail to make the choice for whatever reason to step out and change their situation. NO ONE is going to do it for you. You’ve got to make the decision to make the changes in your life. Once you’ve made the decision for change, then you’ve got to go out, develop a plan, set yourself in motion, be proactive and then…

4. Create your own future

Remember in business and life, you always have the opportunity to position yourself in the best possible position. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, always ask! Remember that if you NEVER ask, the answer will ALWAYS be NO! As the Lord had said, “You have not because you ask not”.

If you ask and you’re told no, then you’ve lost nothing anyway. If you have nothing to lose, then why not attempt to position yourself with the best opportunities?

Ask for what you want. You have nothing to lose!

Make these four principles a part of your overall mindset to get started on your path to business success!

Wishing you much success!

Business Direction

Posted: October 22nd, 2008, by admin

Business Direction!

Once you determine the direction of your life and business and you have set true goals, you can then evaluate your options. What are the different paths you can take to reach where your desired destination?

One of the most important lessons I have learned in life is to continually position yourself in the best opportune position.

Successful people are continually developing options, just in case something doesn’t work out they way they may have intended. They have an alternate course to travel in case the original path becomes blocked. This is done in order to position themselves to help them overcome obstacles, unexpected setbacks or reversals, which are inevitable in life.

As a result, when things go wrong, which they will, successful people remain calm and relaxed because they already have a plan in place.

What having business direction means for you:

Analyze your plan and then develop a list of actions you must take to achieve your goals. What are the daily actions you must take?

All you have to do is envision the path you will walk down and then start taking the steps. You only reach the end of the road after a series of consecutive steps. Along the way, you may have to go over brush, twigs, or avoid unforeseen obstacles, but the point is you are in motion and going toward the right direction.

Once you come to a point along the way, you will be confronted with the inevitable realities of making choices and decisions.

Choices and Decisions

We are all confronted with choices and decisions in life. Your quality of life today is largely determined by the quality of choices and decisions that you made in the past. Your life tomorrow will also be determined by the choices and decisions that you make today!

This is why you cannot afford to act impulsively without having a plan or at least a direction in place. It is essential to think through decisions. So get a vision, determine direction, make a plan and start taking the steps on a daily basis to fulfill that vision.

Wishing you much success!

True Wealth

Posted: October 18th, 2008, by admin

Secrets to True Wealth!

One of the first steps to achieving great things in life is to identify and release the mental brakes that keep you from moving ahead. One of the biggest obstacles that keeps people from achieving wealth and success is the feeling of undeservingness or lack of self worth. In other words, the thoughts that tell you: "I’m not good enough", or "I don’t know enough", or "That guy is the top of his class, how can I measure up to that guy"?

Forget that nonsense! Here’s the key. Contribute something of value to other people’s life and to your world. When you develop your talents and skills, work hard and do good work that benefits others, you DO deserve what you earn through those actions. When you contribute to the betterment of other peoples lives, you do deserve to keep some of the value for yourself. That is the way the business world works.

Here’s an example: If you see people who make a lot of money because they have done exactly what I have mentioned above and people have asked: "Don’t you feel guilty making all that money and having all these nice things?" You can reply, "Not at all. I have decided the best way to help the poor is not to become one of them. Instead of becoming part of the problem, I can become part of the solution. I have the opportunity to help others who want to helped and who want to do something for themselves. I have the opportunity to help others to create a better life for themselves."

All money comes from creating wealth of some kind!

Most money a person makes comes from the exchange of a good or a service for a specified amount of money. Simple as that.

So how does one do this?

Peter Drucker said that "our misunderstandings in business and finance could be eliminated if we replaced the word "success" with "contribution."

Contrary to popular belief, the wealthiest people are not the bank robbers, but are people who make the greatest contributions to the greatest number of people. They are producing products and services that are contributing to the betterment of peoples lives who are eager to give their money as a fair exchange to receive that value in their lives.

The question you must answer is: "What can you contribute to the lives of others in order to help them improve their lives?" No matter the industry or product or service, what can you bring to the table to help others improve their life in WHATEVER it is you are doing?

Then you must ask yourself, what skills or knowledge do you need to possess? Hopefully, your character is already one of goodness and you would do things ethically.

Once you get out of the mindset of how can I make money, looking for ways to make the quick buck, and get into the mindset of bringing value to peoples lives and being able to project into the minds and hearts of the people you wish to serve that value, you’ll see all kinds of opportunities. When you begin focusing on giving, you’ll take your first steps onto the roads of riches!

Business Goals

Posted: October 12th, 2008, by admin

Four Techniques To Achieving Business Goals!

Goal setting is critical to getting you to where you want to go in business.
Here are four techniques that will help you to achieve your goals on schedule:

1. Verbalization

One of the most important things you can do is to write down a clear, measurable and specific goal. When you shoot a gun, how can you hit the target unless you aim? Very similarly, this is your aim. You will not be able to achieve a goal you cannot see or express in words. You want your goals to be S.M.A.R.T.

SMART means:

S = Specific – clear and precise.
M = Measurable – you can see where you are at in completing the goal.
A = Achievable – it is not unreasonable to accomplish.
R = Realistic – something that can be reasonably completed and not a wish list.
T = Time Bound – they have a deadline.

The more time you take for your goals to fall within these lines, the easier it will be for you to make sure that every step you take is in the right direction of accomplishing not only your goals, but your overall plan of why you are doing what you are doing.

2. Visualization
If you want to improve your situation, it all starts in your mind. The way you think. You must be able to see what it is you want to accomplish. You must have a vision of what you want to accomplish. This is why you must write the vision down. This is one of the most powerful things you can do. Each time you replay the picture of your perfect future, you imprint this message deeper into your subconscious mind. The more clearly you can see the accomplishment of your goal and future in your mind, the faster it will appear in your reality.

3. Emotionalization
The more intense you are in your desire to achieve this goal, the more power and energy you will exert in your efforts to achieve that goal and the faster you will move toward it.

4. Rationalization
You rationalize your goal by writing down all the reasons why you want to reach this goal and all the benefits that you will enjoy when you attain it. Make a list of all the ways that achieving this goal will enhance your life.

“He who has a strong enough why can bear almost any how”.

Reasons are the fuel in the furnace of achievement. The more reasons you have for wanting to attain a goal, the more motivated and determined you will be to achieve it.

The more reasons means the more you will persist in the face of any adversity.
The more reasons means the more creative you will become in overcoming difficulties in removing obstacles.
The more reasons means the more likely it is that you will become unstoppable in your movement toward your destination!

Career Success

Choosing Your Destiny… 10 Tips To The Right Career Path!

Thoroughness characterizes all successful men.
Genius is the art of taking infinite pains.
All great achievement has been characterized by extreme care,
infinite painstaking, even to the minutest detail. Elbert Hubbard

There is opportunity all over. In order for you to realize unlimited potential, you must understand what it is you really want out of life. Once you understand where you want to go, what you want and who you are, you’ll be able to accomplish ten times more than the average person and much faster.

Everyone basically has 4 common goals in life:

1. to be healthy
2. to enjoy their work
3. to have happy relationships
4. to achieve financial independence

Your Worldview
Your world view will determine how you look at life and these 4 areas in your life. Your worldview will determine whether you have an attitude of scarcity or abundance.

When you have an attitude of abundance, you’ll be positive and constructive and focused on solutions rather than problems. If you have an attitude of scarcity, you’ll beleive that success is simply a matter of luck and those who earned their money did it by cheating or swindling someone else. You’ll be of those who say: "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer". Someone with a good attitude will not blame others or make excuses. You work to change the situation.

Charting Your Destination

Your future intentions will determine your daily actions. The first question you must ask is: "What Do I Really Want To Do With My Life?"

Determining what you want to do with your life is important to knowing what your daily actions will be. Set your mission and then set out to accomplish it.

Here are ten indicators that you can use to determine if you’re on the right career path:

1. You love your job. It interests you.
2. You want to be excellent in your job. You want to be among the top in your field.
3. You admire top people in your field and desire to achieve the same level of success.
4. You like to continue learning about your field.
5. The right job for you is easy to learn and do. It comes naturally to you while difficult for others.
6. When you’re engaged in your work, time stands still. You often forget to take breaks.
7. Experiencing measures of success gives you feeling of self-esteem and satisfaction. You desire more success.
8. You like to talk about your work when not at work. It is interwoven throughout your life.
9. You like to associate with people in your field.
10. You plan to do this all your life and do not plan to retire because you enjoy it.

It’s been said if you do what you love, the money will follow. True success comes from discovering what you love to do and then throwing your whole heart into doing it better and better. Determining your ideal job or career is essential to your choosing your real destination in life and fulfilling your real potential.

When you are clear about your destination, it will be much easier to make decisions regarding your actions day by day. The secret is to make sure that everything you do on a daily basis, is moving you toward the destination you have chosen.
